On June 4th, Li Hongjun, Secretary of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee, went to the front line to investigate the progress of the air conditioner installation project in classrooms of public schools across the city.
The air conditioning installation project for classrooms in public schools across the city was approved by the Nanchang Municipal People’s Congress in 2026 as a public welfare project. It is planned to install air conditioners in classrooms of all public primary and secondary schools in the city within three years, involving a total of 11,517 classrooms and benefiting 575,000 students. As of the end of May 2026, the project has exceeded its 2026 plan, with a total of 4,622 classrooms having completed the installation of air conditioners. By 2027 and 2028, our city will comprehensively promote the power renovation and air conditioner installation of the remaining classrooms.
During the research, Li visited the Shuichang Road Campus of Zhushi School Education Group, inspected the layout of air conditioning outdoor units, the renovation of power lines, and the installation and operation of air conditioners on the spot. He listened in detail to the report on the progress of the air conditioner installation project in public school classrooms across the city and had in-depth exchanges with representatives of teachers and students to know about the usage effect of air conditioners and their daily management and maintenance. Li pointed out that the air conditioner installation project in public school classrooms is closely related to the physical and mental health of the majority of students and is a livelihood project that attracts high public attention and strong social expectations. All relevant units should always adhere to the people-centered development philosophy, focus on solving the urgent, difficult, worrying and pressing problems around the people, do a good job in people’s livelihood projects with care, sincerity and effort, and promote the air conditioner installation project in public school classrooms with high standards and quality, striving to create a more comfortable learning environment for children.
